For the UK's 2st racers

Round 1
It was a shame the weather was against us this weekend but as they say ' it was the same for everyone' Canada Heights was going prove to be a battle of man and machine just to get to the finish, it was going to take some clever lines and a cool head to earn Championship points here, and real easy to blow it and get the dreaded DNF. Team 125mx.com produced a great start to the series with both riders 'digging' deep and happily coming away with some great points, heres our rider veiws.

Adam Reynolds #250
Well....where do we start?
I couldn't believe the amount of snow which had fallen by the time i'd even got out of bed and it didn't show no sign of easing off ! When i heard that Dave and Mark were going to test the track i was hoping for them to cancel the meeting as the wet isn't my fortay but when they announced that the meeting was to run i just tried to make the best of it. I was in the 2nd group for qualifying which went as planned getting in a decent lap time and qualifying 3rd. I was in the A race so it was all to play for!

The nerves were building and the 1st race of the season was getting ever closer. I got my mum preparing my goggles for the race and took a last minute look at the track trying to pick out a line which was ridable. One that you could use without getting stuck!!!  I was on the line next to Jack Brunnell and Craig English....the adrenaline pumping and the gates dropped. It couldn't have started better, getting a great start going into the corner in the top 3 along with Brunnell and Petit. I went down the tricky downhill section in third and tried to make a pass on Brunnell and went down. Remounting in about 10th! I managed to pull back through a few places before having to take off the goggles and ride the rest of the race avoiding the roost!

I caught back upto Greg Hanson and had a great battle...passing him on the uphill step up section only to get passed back again a few corners later, the lap later i once again made a pass before the step-up on Greg and thought that the pass was the last of him but once again less than half a lap later i hit the deck and Greg rode off into the distance! I crashed another 4 times that same lap and fell back down the field once again. The track conditions deteriated as the race went on but i managed to pass a few riders before the race ended managing to get back up to 6th place which was fairly pleasing considering the amount of time i spent on the floor.
Preceeding the race i knew that the only way to get a good result was to stay on two wheels and ride a smart race....i did the exact opposite crashing half a dozen times but atleast i gained some experience!
Nicki had a good day qualifying in the A race and taking a creditable 7th overall in the Junior class despite taking off his goggles on the 2nd corner!
All in all a good 1st round for 'Team 125mx.com' and hopefully with some better weather we can build on our results at Landrake and perhaps we can both make the podium in our groups!

Nick Banks

Arrived early (for me!!) on the Saturday to perfect riding conditions and boy did that change the next morning!!  I saw Dave and Mark go out to test the track and really expected it to be called off. When I heard that they were going ahead with the meeting I decided despite the bad conditions i would give it my best and try to stay on the bike. The qualifier went better than expected and saw me make the A group. I crashed a few times but when I'd finished the qualifier i couldnt quite believe my position! We had a long wait until the first race due to problems with transponders which was a shame because the weather wasnt getting any better! Finally got to the start line and found myself next to Jonathan Petit and Sam Holloway. Got to the first corner mid pack which i was more than happy with but as Adam pointed out, by the second corner i had a goggle malfunction!  I lost count of the misshaps and crashed I had, but managed to end up 7th in Juniors (19th in the A) which I was well pleased with. Highlight of the race was finding myself passing Jim Davies which I'm sure he wont let happen again!! Sorry Jimbo! Well done to Adam who will definately be a rider to watch this year. Very good start for 125mx.com! Just wanted to say well done to my cousin Danny Whitworth who had to do the qualifier race, made the A group and finished 9th out of the Juniors.

Roll on Landrake.....Come on!!!

Round 2 Landrake

This round was eagerly awaited by both our riders after the quagmire that was Canada Heights, the track was prepared perfectly and this is one real fast circuit, the 125's would be wide open all around this place. Great news as both qualified well and sprits were high in the camp. Adam had such good starts all day and raced very well in some rather rapid company, he dug deep in each moto and nailed some consistant lap times, always in the top 10. Nick had some hectic first laps getting bad starts and being knocked around but he kept a cool head and soon settled down to the job in hand and claimed good points in the junior ranks. Nice one lads !

#250 Adam Reynolds

Well we were all fired up for qualifying with the slight drizzle of rain making the track real slick and greasy and everyone was finding it hard to get any traction. I set off, got a clear track and hammered in a fast lap which put me in the lead for the majority of the timing session but then Brunnell, Davies (who was flying at the weekend) and tombs piping my time. I was fairly pleased with 4th though as it got me on the gate and with an half decent gate pick. Nikki just scraped in to the A group and he was complaining about the tricky surface aswell but fair play to him he got on with it and made it onto the start line in the A group.

The track was prepped to perfection however, the hard pack circuit really wasn't doing it for me and the only part of the track which i seemed to flow on was the woop section....i looked forward to coming round to them every lap.

The first race wasn't a total disaster holding 6th for most of the moto but getting passed by lethaby and hanson after a good battle with the pair and then being past by tombs on the last lap. A little dissapointing being passed towards the latter end of the moto but i still came across the line in 9th and it was all to play for in the next two races.

Race 2 saw my KTM fire off the line with a great start and i rode a steady race coming home in 9th but still not feeling like i was riding at my best.

The final race of the day and yet again the awesome KTM towed up the hill with another mega start. I pushed hard at the start of the moto to try and stay on the pace of the front pack who were absalutely flying this weekend but unfortunately it was to no avail as the simply rode of into the distance. Riding a lonely 5th i fell off the pace and the closing pack reeled me in. With two laps to go i got past by Shires and then a stream of riders managed to get by and unfortunately i crossed the line back in 10th.

I got 10th overall which wasn't aswell as i'd hope to ride but everyone has their 'off days.' All we can do is build on it and stroll on the sand of Leisure Lakes in 2 weeks time where i might be able to get a good result and push the front few.

Sorry for delay but he's doing his hair ?

The barnet’s sorted now!!!....;)

It took me 5 and half hours to get there, but arrived about 4.30 which gave me plenty of time to set up, sign in and walk the track... oh and for Jim to cook my dinner!!!  The track was rock hard and I knew there was going to be some fast riding if the track stayed that way.  Woke up early in the morning to a bit of drizzle which had made the track a little slippery.  I was first group out in qualifying and was well up for it, hoping for the A group - which I really had to work for.  I was pleased with qualifying at 13th, as I'd spent most of it struggling at 15th but had pushed hard in the last lap.  I know this wasn’t  Adam's favourite track either and he was finding it hard too, but I thought he rode mega all day.

I had a bad start in the first race and found it really hard to make up the loss.  Didn’t have a great result but cant complain as pleased to be riding in the A group as it made me 19th out of the juniors. Races 2 and 3 weren’t much different to be honest, found the track really difficult as I haven’t had much practise on hard pack tracks.  I was really impressed with the top boys - well done to my mate Jim Davies for getting third overall; he was having it all day and cooks a mean lasagne... but snores!!!

I think Team 125mx.com was glad to get Landrake out of the way as we both enjoy riding sand so I am looking forward to Leisure Lakes.

Round 3 Leisure Lakes

What a glorious weekend, sun, sand and bikes. We had never been to this circuit but both lads were looking forward to 'a bit of sand', The track was well prepped and the layout was good, some fast sections followed by some tight technical area's and boy oh boy did it get bumpy, even after qualifying there were big ruts, holes and whoops, this was going to be a hard event on man and machine. Both riders performed well all day, Adam rode very well and secured yet another top 10 slot ending up 6th overall in the experts, Nick had a few problems qualifying and for the first time this year he went into the B group. Then rode top 10 or so until a couple of crashes took their toll. Overall a good weekend for us as we continue to collect points, well done lads.

#250 Adam Reynolds

Another weekend of intense racing...The track was amazing, really to my style with the fast straights and the gnarly bumps everywhere, this was definantly a track which would seperate the men from the boys!
Once again i was in the 3rd qualifying session and that went well getting the feel for the new engine and qualifying in 6th...although i qualified, because i didn't qualify too high up i didn't get the best gate pick so next time im gunna try and put in a really all out lap and get into the top 3. Unfortunately Nikki missed out on the cut but he rode some good races and got some good points!

I didn't get the best start in the first race but managed to get through into 5th on the first lap due to all the carnage! Unfortunately this race was red flagged due to a unfortunate incident with Ryan....we all wish him the best!     1st race, take 2. Once again i got away to a poor start but fought through the field and came home in a good 7th place which made the next two races all to go for in order to get a good overall. The second race went well again and by now the track was really rough so it took everything out of you...not to mention the intense heat which didn't make life any easier. I came home with another 7th place.

I had slight trouble with the new engine and was a bit unsure about it as i seemed to be losing power between gears and on on the bottom so the two chief mechanics (Chris, and my dad) got down to the nitty gritty and had whipped out the engine and put my old standard back in for the last race!  Another terrible start in the last race....I wasn't on the ball out of the gate this weekend for some unknown reason! Mid pack is a tough place and after a hard first lap with some clattering passes i found myself in 8th place and right on 7th. But this didn't last for long as over the back end of the track the massive bumps got the better of me and spat me over the bars. I lost a few places and was back in about 16th but i gritted my teeth and put my head down for a few laps and managed to regain a good position in 7th despite having a few very close moments where i just closed my eyes and hoped that i managed to save it. Towards the end of the race i think everyone was feeling it because the track was mega rough but i managed to hold out for another 7th.

Talk about consistent...3 7th place finishes and a 6th overall so it was a great days racing. Hopefully i will be able to break into the leading pack and challenge for a few podium places at the coming rounds.  Well done to Nikki who had a big off and bent his bike in the last race but managed to come away with some creditable points to aid his championship position!

Lets get ready for Langrove!

#609 Nick Banks

Took us 5 and half hours to get to Leisure Lakes, was amazed by the complex makes a change to have jet skiing at the track!  I was really looking forward to this round because I like riding sand, we walked the track the night before, could see that it would get rough and boy was I right.  I was in the second group for qualifying and couldnt wait to get started. I thought I rode well and thought we would be close to qualifying which sadly I didnt this week, I was17th in qualifying and a second off the pace. Race 1 of the B group
started badly I was almost last out of the gate and could only pull through to 15th. 2nd race was slightly better out of the gate but not a lot ! I ended up getting 7th. 3rd race was looking to be my best having started mid pack, and worked my way up to 6th and with the top 5 in sight, then it happened.... went for a dip in the lake!!  After joking about it with a few of the lads, they said it just had to be me!!   Pulled my bike out with its bent bars and rear end and just finished the race. Still enjoyed the whole weekend, the bike was fast here in this deep sand and I'm happy having collected 11 points.  Well done Adam for getting 6th overall another good weekend.  Looking forward to round 4.

Round 4 Pontrillas

Round 4 was from a new circuit to the series and Pontrillas did not let us down on the action front, with its big hills and off camber sections this was always going to be an easy place to make mistakes. Here's our riders comments

Adam Reynolds #250

The DEP was blessed with another weekend of perfect weather to resume the battle for those valuable championship points! The debate on saturday night was the whoops! What were we going to do through them? Could we triple out? It played on my mind a bit over the night but as sunday morning commenced i decided on double, double, double and singling out, sure enough so had everyone else! I had an amazing nights sleep on saturday as i went to bed at about 7 so i was fresh as a daisy for qualifying!
Group 3 once again and by this time the track had dried out slightly and i fell in love on the first lap as i felt really comfortable on the 125mx.com ktm machine! I put in a few fast laps and came home 2nd in qualifying behind willet, davies only 1 tenth of a second behind me so i knew the racing was going to be really close!
The first race got under way with an awesome start going head to head with jack brunnel! I had the inside for the second corner so i held the gas on right till the death but they had drowned the track in water and as i hit the brakes i just kept sliding overshooting the corner and coming out of it in about 7th! I pulled back through to 3rd and by mid race it looked like a comfortable 3rd place however i just couldn't nail the section that they had watered and i lost time every lap! I got hunted down by the chasing riders and had to settle for 5th!
Race two was another good start and i finished where i gated because the track was so fast and everyone was really on the pace!
Race 3 was a different story tho as i hit the deck on the 2nd corner and had a lot of work to do. I was lapping with realy fast laptimes infact quick enough to have put me top 3 so i was on the charge! I pulled through from last to 7th but the race got red flagged so when they took it back a lap i came home in 8th! Not a disasterous race but if it hadn't have got red flagged i think i could have clawed back a few more places. All in all a good day just a few errors which cost me a good top 4 finish!
Nikki didn't seem to get on with the track too much and he said ' i wont be coming back here thats for sure'. Nethertheless he rode some good races and only some unlucky falls cost him a good result! The crashes can be blamed on the amount of water they put on the track tho before his race because they literally made the track like ice!!! It wasn't a smart idea.
Lets all look forward to whitby which is the closest round for me with only a short journey at long last as opposed to the 4 and 5 hour trips.

Nick Banks #609  still in shower ?????

Out the shower now and my hair's looking good!!...........

We arrived after a very eventful journey, having been lost up a mountain somewhere which was all down to Mac's 'reliable' SatNav!!    Walked the track with the lads in the evening and to be honest I wasnt sure what to expect for the following day.  I didnt qualify in the A group on the day which left me in the Bs. I must say I missed out as I knew that 22 other juniors had made it into the A's,  but obviously I didnt ride well enough to qualify here today as the hills and off cambers had me searching for lines, I was looking forward to the first race until I heard the track was being watered !  off cambers with grass and bone hard sections dont go down well in my mind. Got a 6th in the first race and was happy with that and was quietly hopeful for a good overall result for the day. This positive mental attitude soon disapeared after crashing in the second and third races leaving me well back in the results. My team mate Adam had a good day, rode really well and came away with some great results. Well done mate!     Looking forward to Whitby (just not the journey!!) hope Team125-mx.com do well there....

Thanks Chris for all your help as usual and also Karen for the grub!!

Round 5 Whitby

Whitby is one of our favourite circuits and we look forward to this event all year, unfortunatley Nick will miss this one due to a heavy crash whilst practicing for this round, he should be back for Wakes Colne !  The Whitby club along with the MCF crew had worked hard to deliver a perfect track, good weather and a large crowd just added to this excellent event.

Adam Reynolds

I was the sole rider for 125mx.com this weekend as Nicky unfortunately suffered an injury to his leg and was unable to ride....he will be back to fight another day though.

Qualifying went smoothly putting in a quick lap and ending up 2nd in my heat....lining up in the holding pen prior to race 1 was amazing seeing that i had qualified faster than both jason dougan and jamie smith the wild card riders for the weekend!

Race one got away with a midpack start and everyone knows that its not a nice place to be but after a hard few laps banging bars i managed to pass some real fast opposition as everyone seemed to be on their game this weekend on a perfect whitby track with some massive jumps! I finished the race in 9th which was a decent position considering the competition this weekend!

Race 2 was another similar midpack start and a real hard race with the track starting to rough up. I came home in 11th which wasn't where i wanted to be outside the top 10!

Race 3 saw another terrible start but i felt a little more comfortable this race and quickly got upto about 8th position but then a string of mistakes started to kick in and i hit the deck! I also had a close moment where my head hit a post and smashed my peak but i ended up finishing the moto in 12th....once again not where i wanted to be!

All in all a decent day but hoping for a lot more at the meetings to follow!

Round 6 Wakes Colne

WAKES COLNE

Adam Reynolds

Disaster struck the weekend following Whitby at the under 21 round at blaxall and i came together with a post breaking my 3rd metatarsal into 3 bits and requiring 3 screws to be put in! Not the ideal situation to be in only 2 weeks from wakes colne!

Sunday morning and the track looked awesome with some real airtime and a real grippy surface due to the rain which we had on the saturday night! I had decided to race with my hand and we had done some modifications to the bike to try and make it a smoother ride....my hand strapped and lots of painkillers saw us hit the line for qualifying!

Qualifying went ok just getting in 1 fast lap to try and save my hand as much as possible .... qualified 6th in my group which gave 12th pick on the line!

Race 1 got off to a decent start and i found myself in around 12th for the majority of the race trying to ride smart and save my hand but yet gaining good championship points! I came home in 16th but 11th in the experts as i had to ease off towards the end of the moto due to some pretty bad pain!

My hand was once again iced up inbetween the race and i had taken countless painkillers before i hit the gate for race 2. I got away to a good start and managed to avoid all the first lap crashes which resulted in several riders hitting the deck! I was in a comfortable 8th in the expert class and was once again riding conservatively to keep an eye on my hand when we had a mechanical failure resulting in a dnf.

We were back on the line for race 3 after fixing up the bike and i was fired up to try and go away with a good performance! The track was real rough yet very flowing and the jumps were great fun! I got away on the start and again stayed out of trouble on the first few laps riding a safe race. I settled down into my rhythm and blocked out the pain from the hand. I had a good battle with brett wheeler but he he ended up getting the better of me! I finished the race in 8th.

My hand held out well and i managed to salvage some good championship points so riding through the pain was well worth while!

Blaxhall in 2 weeks time and hopefully me and nicky will both be back fighting fit and put in a top performance to do team 125mx.com proud!!!

Round 7 Blaxhall Pits

Blaxhall?  What an awsome event and a circuit that never fails to deliver, although this year it just seemd to be the roughest ever, Adam rode great and without a couple of small mistakes had the pace for top 4, Nick was on his first race back after a small 'man bruise' and found the going hard, but most of the paddock welcomed him saturday afternoon. Here's there veiw

Adam Reynolds #250

We all arrived on saturday looking forward 2 some great racing to come on the sunday and with glorious sunshine and the track in perfect condition the stage was set for some awesome racing. The sunshine soon dissapeared and the heavens opened with some real heavy rain throughout the night leaving the blaxhall track rather boggier than on saturday! Nicky the bruiser Banks was back for action this weekend and he seemed to be the star of the show with numerous banners and posters celebrating his return!! I'd of thought we might have seen a new hair style or some serious fake tanning for the occasion but he failed to deliver!

I hit the track for qualification and the track was real heavy going but i managed to post the 3rd fastest time in my group which was a decent gate pick!  I was eager to get going in race 1....a little too eager as i hit the gate but managed to pull back through the pack only to go and crash right infront of chris!  I'm starting to make it an habit crashing for the camera....?!?! I came home in 8th in the expert class which wasn't all too bad after that crash
Race 2 saw a much more convincing start and some seriously quick reactions just after the drop off enabled me too miss the crashing brad who managed to take down ryan turner in the process!  I rode a decent race after hooking on to the back of Pettit for a good few laps and setting the 3rd fastest laptime for the race!  After a good race I managed to come home in 5th.
Race 3 saw another good start and a decent first few laps kept myself in 4th place until I took a spectacular crash being catapulted over the bars on which was now a seriously rough track! The heavy rain allowed the track to dig up and form some seriously big braking bumps and made getting round, especially in the tree section, a task in itself! I remounted and rode a steady race coming home in 8th again. I felt extremely knakered towards the end of the race as the hard going track had really taken its toll on everyones fitness levels! We stand and complain yet the iron man Willet and his third lung put in an outstanding performance in both classes and he never even seemed to break a sweat while the rest of us were strugling just to complete the races for our one class.....how does he do it?
I came home with 6th overall which was enough to put me back into 5th in the championship. I need to try and chase down the flying tm of Jim for 4th but the way he is riding at the minute its going be an hard task because he is on the gas everywhere!

Nick Banks #609

Well.... where do I start?  I was looking forward to my first race after having had 6 weeks out for an injury which some have called a bruise ?  I was hoping to slip back into the DEP quietly which obviously did not happen because in Typical Chris Barker / Jim Davies style, the paddock and track were decorated in my honour !
I was in the second group for qualifiers and was happy with how I rode, missing out on the A group by one thousandth of a second.  The first race I didnt get out the gate too good as usual but still managed good 5th place at the finish.  I did find myself knackered during the first race and knew I was definately not fully fit yet. So I wasnt expecting too much out of the last two races....and I was right not to?. The second race I crashed 3 times and the third was going ok until crashing before the woods. Wanted a quick stop at "hair dressers corner"!!
Enjoyed the weekend though and looking forward to Mildenhall. Well Done Adam - 'kept away from them posts'!  I know your hand is not 100% yet and you did well to not let it affect your riding mate.

Round 8 Mildenhall

Mildenhall was a good event for the team, Adam was back on form and flat hauling all day. And Nick has got over his injury now and he too looked a lot happier on the bike. Well done lads and here's to the last two rounds.

#250 Adam Reynolds

I have been waiting for this round for the entire series, a great fast flowing track with some awesome jumps! We arrived saturday to see that the track was in great condition, a little soft which allowed it to form some really good berms and some real nasty bumps come the end of sunday!
Qualifying was awesome....was in the second group so I managed to avoid the slop which group 1 had to put up with! I took a few steady laps and then got into the flow pretty much straight away, coming out of the session with a 1.49.85 which was good enough for 3rd just behind the rejuvenated stevens and the flying willet as we were all on a 1.49 laptime! I felt confident going into race 1!
The lead up to race one was dominated by Nikki's awesome effort in the B group holding on to his 3rd place! A great day out for him, he's gettin back upto his race pace and it looks like his fitness is coming along too! If he gets in the gym with mr davies im sure he will be able to keep his pace all race and hopefully run away with the B group and be back challenging for the A.

I got away to a decent start in the 1st moto and seemed to stay in the postition all race, slowly gaining on stevens, only for him to pull away again in mid race! I lost my goggles and nailed down to try and put some laps together to try and put in a final burst to catch and pass him however, it was all in vain as he held onto his 5th spot and i had to settle for 6th!
Race 2 was a blistering start hitting the corner in the top 5 however, after the first few corners and some real bar banging i was back out of the top 10! A real good way to throw away a good start! I soon found my flow after the first few laps and began to hunt down the trail of riders ahead! I made some agressive passes and before i knew it i could see myself closing in on stevens and that man jim davies on his flying tm! I put my head down again and tried to get the job done! I closed in on the 2 rather quickly and managed to swoop past a tiring stevens but passing jim was another story as whilst id been tackling stevens he had put a real burst on. I continued to persue him for the last few laps of the race and was undoubtedly catching him but i ran out of laps and had to settle for 5th! One spot higher than the first race!
Another decent start in the last race saw me in about 9th position but i managed to hit the gas earlier in this race and barged my way into 4th quickly closing in on stevens in 3rd. The track was now extremely rough with some unforgivable bumps and some huge kickers off the jumps! I was hunting down stevens until my back wheel got punctured on around the 4th lap! My pace quickly dropped and it was just a battle to bring myself and the bike home! I rode cautiously and managed to hold on to a 10th spot despite my wheel being held together pretty much by luck as I'd lost a lot of spokes!

The weekend was wicked with a 6th overall but most of all knowing that i was well on the pace of the front guys!  Lets all get ready for the final round where we will put on a show!!!!

#609 Nicki Banks

At present Nick is still at the salon, he will have his report posted as soon as he gets out of there !
